Setting up the Drive Clinic

On February 24-25th, we went down to the Isle of Calais with our friend Teri, and did a clinic on setting up driving and drive lines. We did some work in the little center pen, and then spent a lot of the time fetching sheep, moving them down the drive lane, through the little donut, and back. At the beginner levels, the dogs are on a line to keep them from going around the stock to bring them back. Once the understand this, they do it off leash. And then, I step into the JHD field, and move further and further away from the drive lane.

The large photo on the left is Rory, at level 1. The top panel is Chunky, working the drive lane by herself, with me in the JHD field near the fence, and Mazikeen is the bottom one, with me halfway into the JHD arena.

I love unique herding! Thanks Teri!
