Goodbye Clark!

It has been a few months now, but I thought the old mans eulogy belong here on the website, as he was the inspiration of the name of my kennel, and my best friend for nearly 16 years.

Clark, titles not really important, but they existed.

April-ish 2009 – December 31, 2024

This is a lot harder for me than I thought… because after like, 30+ address changes in 7 states,

YOU were Home. Where my heart always came back to.

The constant in a life of chaos for nearly 16 years.

I sort of thought you were immortal, having survived a lightning strike through the ground with me, and a head on collision with an out of control semi truck with Warren, but alas, time does come for us all.

And on my trip down to Florida yesterday, I got re-live so many flashbacks of everything and everyone who is in my life because I took in that abandoned, slightly crazy lab thing that someone else threw away.

We were really a performance team failure (it took 15 attempts before we got our Beginner Novice title, and almost a dozen to finish a rally advanced title), and aside from Snooker and Gamblers, we were really inconsistent at agility too… but you were my very special little snowflake.

After I lost my job and you were retired is really when our best adventures started though. I loved being able to take you places where you could just Clark around (chasing all the bees and butterflies, rolling in all the fun things), sleep on my foot or under my desk as I worked on various things, and try to mooch all of my food ever (lucky I am a softie and let you have it).

It was my greatest honor to shepherd you to the rainbow bridge, knowing the last two weeks we had was pretty much perfect, and you only had less than one bad day.

I will never forget you. Thank you for being there for me longer than pretty much everyone else in my life.

I will see you at Pillsbury Crossing again someday, try not to get distracted or stuck behind the waterfall this time…

And I am sorry about all of the cattle dogs (seriously, like 9 seems a bit excessive)
